Depends on who's locked in with you.

Per LSU Twitter @ 4:00PM
quote:
"The situation is ongoing. No shots have been fired, and there are no injuries. Continue to avoid the area or remain in a safe place. We will post when we have more information."
it is not on LSU.edu anymore.

LSU Twitter was the best source during the whole event

Kudos to whomever maintains the account

Hopefully it was just someone with a holstered dirt devil heading to clean their office.

I don't think you get his point. The old school professors would keep you there if there were a shooter in the room. No quarter from those old bastards.

Okay, so I'm not the only one around here who picked up what he was putting down.

I had a professor who held class on 9-11-2001 while shite was still going down and nobody knew if we were under larger attack or not. There were manufacturing processes that needed to be learned, and planes turning buildings into fiery infernos of death be damned.

Just stop, go get you a latte and pet your cat. Men talking here.

I’m not a snowflake and I don’t drink coffee. I have 5 kids though, and sympathizing with a fellow Cajun whose son is in this situation is not being a snowflake. My daughter is friends with kids at LSU on campus right now and they are saying they are getting reports of shots fired as well.

Hopefully it’s a false alarm.

If i was a snowflake I’d be calling for gun control. I’m not. I think these gun free zones make us all sitting ducks.

You’re the snowflake for jumping to conclusions “like a woman” assuming I’m a cat petting latte drinker.

Your professor was right to keep you there.

Lockdowns are dumb and the way that bunches of people get killed. See Virginia Tech shooting for an example.

The "experts" have gotten the Run part right and yet institutions keep wanting to "lockdown" everyone in place. The best thing that can happen is that everyone hauls arse away from the shooter. The high body count incidents always involve masses of people trapped in one place.

But you take the recent Garlic Festival or the Dayton shooting and you get relatively few people killed. Why? Because it is hard to kill folks that are hauling arse in the opposite direction. Everyone's first natural instinct is to run and you should listen to that.

Negative ghostrider

They arrested a local BR guy for calling in the Bomb Threat

A bag might have been found but that wasn't what caused the evacuation

Coates was and always has been classrooms. Computer science was there in the 80s.

LSU's description of Coates:

"Academic departments and several student support services are currently located in Charles E. Coates Hall.:

I had a prof finish a lecture for about a half hour while the fire department was responding to a live alarm in the (high-rise) building. They were still milling around and debriefing when the class ended and we got outside.

Thought there was a Coates dorm years ago, could certainly be wrong.
