I think the coverage will affect some jurors and could even sway them to convict out of anger if someone was on the fence.

Of the 12 jurors, what is the requirement (number) to get a conviction?

Does anyone think the event yesterday in Minneapolis will have any effect on the jury and/or trial in general?

each case is separate. No connection what so ever... If it's connected by skin color and "police", that's racist as hell...

No way we're that stupid of a people are we?

I love that the State wants to have an additional use of force expert because the previous one sucked. Clown show prosecution.

I figured the county ME would be the prosecution's final witness... but they didn't rest and instead the judge ended Friday's proceedings after the prosecution said they had someone else and that person's testimony would take them past 4:30 PM

I wonder who else the prosecution is putting on the stand

Judge just said Hall will be on the stand tomorrow and be required to invoke the 5th and if he is able to even invoke the 5th or not per question.

I agree with that however the jury is not sequestered so they have heard and seen things that parallel their case. Humans are not machines so I'm curious to see if the emotional part doesn't come into play.

Will it be in front of the jury?

I would think it would be

it's all part of the testimony, right? so if he pleads the 5th it's an official part of the court transcript?

I would like to think so but it was mentioned earlier that he might have to do the 5th out of the jury hearing because it may bias the jury.

He's still in jail somewhere, right? Zoom testimony?

No, currently still going over motions. Right now talking about Morries Hall (what a way to spell Maurice btw) testimony. I guess I misheard the Judge earlier because I thought he said he was going to allow the testimony and make him invoke the 5th since they are still arguing the motion.

They are still debating Hall testifying. He will give his ruling after lunch today.

Which, again, is insane to me.

The biggest trial in the country since OJ, probably. Certainly the biggest trial in MN history. The bias in the media both ways. And the judge's instructions was to "try and avoid any coverage of the case."

That's just insane to me.
