Outgoing Angola warden Burl Cain is the target of a new investigation that will be detailed Friday afternoon.
The probe's details will be revealed at the Department of Corrections along with Louisiana State Police and the Inspector General's Office. No charges will be announced at the news conference, which will outline a cooperative effort effort between the agencies.
More to come at the 1245pm conference per Advocate.

Burl is a LONG-time political operative in the state of LA and has dirt on lots of people. This could go one of two ways (refer to Edwin Edwards for a primer on this):
1. They let the investigation drag on until people lose interest and then quietly close it.
2. Someone with clout and power decides it benefits them to be seen cracking down on him and pushes it through despite the potential for dirt to come out.
As a watcher of LA political theater, I will be interested to see what happens.

He was at Angola when Moby Dick was a minnow. Most wardens are transferred every 4 to 5 yrs for security concerns.

Yall need to leave Burl alone. Hes a God-fearing Christian who has served the state and Angola well. Can't blame the guy for trying to get a little something for when he retires. Just look at how Jindal cut state retirement. Whats a working man supposed to do?

Report will issue on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend several months from now.
It will say things like "possibly violated internal policies" and "did not discover sufficient evidence of the violation of state laws to warrant further action" and "the department takes seriously all ethical and legal requirements" blah blah.
Burl, you got away with it. Go enjoy your retirement and thank that Jesus fellow you always talk about that your fat arse did not go to the pen.
