And you know he’s not referencing people’s right to PEACEFULLY gather, he’s warning them against destroying property, assaulting people and causing chaos.
I’ll answer my own question..the 1st amendment does not give you the right to say whatever you want. It actually has nothing to do with that at all. It was written specifically to protect publications, and yes by extension an individual’s right to criticize, speak out and oppose the government without retribution. So it’s not an affirmative right at all. So although your average idiot thinks that they as an individual have a right to free speech, they don’t. There are many instances where an individual’s right of speech is restricted.
