Delta dumped “toxic” fuel - ABC reports

fricking MSM, always being dramatic. I’m not saying it wasn’t toxic, it’s just the way they report it. If you ever look up the MSDS (SDS) on regular gasoline, you would want to wear a fresh air mask, it’s very toxic as well.

Have these pilots no scruples? I would jettison—pardon the pun—any of my pilots if they performed such a tawdry act.

I’m not talking about them dumping it, it was fricking stupid on their part. I’m just talking about the news saying “toxic fuel”, instead of jet fuel, etc.

So, they declare an emergency and should land overweight to keep from dumping fuel?
If you were a pilot you would know that a declared emergency means a fuel dump is probably a life-saving action.

When trying to save your arse and an airliner full of people. The people on the ground can take a shower.
In a declared emergency you usually don't get to pick your altitude. You work with what you have and pray it is enough.
