what does that mean very narrow scope of education

Again, no fricking question mark?!?!

But, with all due respect, doctors, lawyers, engineers, astronauts, politicians, all these people study a very specific subject and then practice a profession focused very directly on that subject, leaving them a bit ignorant in other fields.

It's not a knock against them, it's just the way of the world. If Faraday hadn't been so ignorant of existentialism, then we probably wouldn't have alternating current.

It's just, consider your audience when you're trying to convince people. Because, as an audience member, I don't give a shite about how long you went to school, I much more care about a cheaper and accurate diagnosis of my health.

No need to be a dick there, sarcastic Sally. I was being nice about a pretty civil disagreement.

It is always necessary to have a medical doctor available In the primary care of a patient

As a patient, you've convinced me for it. I'm about to pass out but when I wake up tomorrow I'll probably call and support it (not that it will make a difference).

So let's say you're got one more post to convince, let's hear your most compelling argument.....

Why do the nps not complete medical school if they wish to practice medicine on their own?

What?!?!! No, just no. I've been to doctors who saw me out of obligation for seconds when they already diagnosed me on an NP's word. That's just a dumb thing to say.

Medical school and residency are at a minimum 5-6 times the training of an Np. It may be a bigger gap than that. That alone should convince you. There are so many things that could go wrong in the care of patients if they pass this bill. We do not want that to take place

It's not the same school!!! It's supposed to be a school for exceptional nurses who showed promise and the ability to take on tasks that would lighten a docs load.

How is this legislation not in keeping with that original philosophy of the profession?

What I'm saying is if you want to practice medicine on your own, there's 3 Louisiana schools for that. We have LSU medical school down south and LSU medical school up north and we have Tulane. Applications are open to all and there is unlimited scope of practice after finishing and doing residency
