Not mad. Living my dream of being a physician anesthesiologist. I usually don't sit to be honest. I try and stay engaged in the surgery because I understand what is happening on the other side of the curtain thanks to my medical education.
Now this sounds mad:

I'm not even going to argue with this cat on what he thinks he know about an anesthesia residency vs a CRNA. Nor will y'all try to tell the public CRNAs can't handle comorbitites. The clear lack of what actually happens and what is spoken about baffles me. Clearly y'all shouldn't speak about something you have no idea about.

When I did college, prenursing and premed did not take the same courses

1 doctor mistake does not prompt us to lower the educational bar in the state Capitol and allow thousands of more mistakes

You are not a Dr miss.

Cool, enjoy your career as a midlevel. I'll enjoy my career knowing that I have received the highest degree of education, training, and examination in anesthesiology. Thus, making me an expert consultant in anesthesiology and among the most suitable person to deliver anesthetic care in a solo environment, available any time of the day or night. A real asset to patient care and safety.
Sound butt hurt?

Understood. Carry on.
Be nice to your CRNA's. You may eventually find yourself somewhere in charge of a few. They'll run your arse like a dog if you are a dick. I can not "feel comfortable" with many things if an ER doc pisses me off.

I do supervise CRNAs. Most of them do a good job in the OR. However, they understand their role and I understand mine. I doubt any of them would try and tell me their education is equal to the physician anesthesiologists they work for. That's what I have I problem with, and as evidenced by this thread I'm not alone in thinking advanced nursing degrees are not equivalent to a medical degree/residency training.

That's why I hate surgery. Seen many a surgeon treat many an anesthesiologist like their bitch. Places I've been though surgeons bring in the revenue, and anesth is just a sub contractor who is seen as an expense. Beaumont maybe a different animal now. It's been many years since I was at Saint Mary's. I don't know who has the biggest balls anymore. Used to be a Dr. Foley and another Beaumont thoracic guy. Short fella.

I've seen many a surgeon treat many an anesthesiologist/CRNA/curculator nurse/floor nurse/ER nurse/preop nurse/everyone like their bitch. Thankfully, I feel like that attitude is beginning to be a thing of the past.

Any chance you remember the prerequisites for those two systems of schooling or the level of degree offered by each?
You're comparing a doctorate and a bachelor's by length. I do not think this is a very strong argument the way I'm reading it. Did you intend to mean something else?

I do too. Especially here in Houston. You and we (RN) are a dime a dozen. They can always replace you. Surgeons too. Place I used to work had a few old fossils though. Even a couple antique anesthesiologists.

State NP association is shameful.
Spreading articles about budget issues and potential for the state to lose physicians on their site with nps liking it. How in the world is that a good thing for our state?
Ridiculous. This is just one more piece of evidence that their end goal is to eradicate primary doctors. Stay vigilant and keep opposing these wild bills. A nurse (however confident) is not a doctor

Ain't that the truth. Nurses, on average, act as if they care about the patients, other nurses, surgical techs, etc., whereas surgeons and many other doctors, on average, act like they are God and look down on/treat patients and other health care workers like garbage. I know exactly where you fall. I wish we knew who you were IRL, because it would be great for the general public (your coworkers and patients) to know how much of a pompous dick you are.

This x 1000
As a husband of a lady that was a scrub tech when we were dating very young, saw her work through to get her MSN, and then her DNP, I'm proud of her.

Meh. The last couple times I've had to go in to a clinic it's been a NP or PA who basically did everything. Seems like these jobs are becoming much more in demand with most stuff being outpatient treatment these days. I have no big issue with this fwiw.
I feel the same way.

Patient Alert: What if your "primary provider" never went to medical school? What if they would like to call themselves doctor but are not? What if they are lobbying to remove the doctor from your care altogether? What if your primary "provider's" training is far far less than that of the medical doctor?
Wouldn't give two shits. Medicine is medicine, who writes the shite is meaningless.
I'd trust IBM Watson over any doctor anyway, so this just helps usher in the need to frick, shite head Drs who think they deserve some protected status
