On Tuesday April 24th, 2012 someone shot and killed 57-year-old Bruce Cucchiara in a New Orleans East apartment complex. Who was Bruce? His children, ex wife and widow reflect on the man who's murder is the focal point of CounterClock Season 5.

Went to college with his daughter. They’ve been fighting to get this story told for some time. I hope they get some of the closure they need.

I guess its impossible for Bruce Cucchiara to have kids.

Is the closure they are searching for the identification of the killer or are there other suspicions regarding his death?
If I call correctly, he stopped at a sketch apartment complex to ask for directions, left his truck unlocked with his pistol in it, POS got in the truck, grabbed the gun and shot Bruce when he returned and confronted the POS.
Does the family think the apartment manager knows the killer or was complicit? Is there more to the story?

I know his daughter. This story needs to blow up.

Yes. It all revolves around his business partner. The circumstances are shady as hell.

Listened to all episodes yesterday. My biggest takeaway is that Jared Rieke is a first class piece of shite no matter how you slice it.
Also, NOPD sucks but thats not news.

I listened to all 14 episodes. She didn't leave any stone unturned, but there's no resolution yet. Similar to the Nanette Krentel case, it sounds everyone believes that they know who's at fault (the person who had the most to gain from the situation), but there's no hard proof.
What I found to be the most interesting:
-Jared Riecke knew and was in communication with the guy Bruce was on the phone with that morning when he was looking for the address of the apartment complex. Yet no one claims to have sent Bruce to that address that morning.
-Riecke's warehouse went up in flames two years after the murder. (Not shocking that the investigation into the fire was closed without resolution.)
-Riecke had Bruce sign those promissory notes not long before he passed.
-Bruce was killed days before his deposition in the case of the guy who was suing Riecke.
-The apartment complex worker refused to talk to Delia about the day of the murder. And she changed her name.
I thought the podcast was well done. Hopefully it brings some attention to the case and helps give his kids a resolution.

I didn't understand the real relevance of the warehouse fire other than it involved Riecke. If the intent was to destroy documents, why would they wait two years?

Maybe it was a “burn it down” if absolutely necessary thing.

Maybe he just needed more money and thought the insurance payout would help. Then it also gets rid of whatever info was leftover from SECO. Who knows. He's shady AF.

Right, I meant relevance to the murder.
