My cousin teaches 6th grade and she keeps a kit full of personal care products in her desk for any kid that needs it. Some of them don't get much guidance at home about that sort of thing.

A kid in my 5th grade class apparently didn't get any guidance at home and was constantly getting complaints about stinking. It was that bad musty smell that starts when your hormones switch on at that age and he smelled awful. The teacher and guidance counselor had to have an intervention with him and teach him how to use deodorant and why he needed to use it.

I felt bad for the guy because there were a couple times once I started going through puberty at first where I forgot to put some on in the morning and was terrified that others were going to smell me and call me out. Never happened but I put a spare stick of deodorant in my backpack for just that purpose after a couple times.

Does he bathe/shower daily?

Yes

The wife and I had kicked around the idea up until Thanksgiving.

Bathed him after work and drove 2 hours to Nola. His BO was awful when he went to bed.

When they are old enough to wander to your house on their own. If they need their parents along then you tell their parents. If the kids poor or has shite parents then help them out.

Thank you! There are way too many people who smell like moldy asscrack and try to cover it up with body sprays or cologne. It just smells like cologne plus BO.

My kids all shower daily and use deodorant, but their rooms still smell like feet and Cheetos. Must be a teenage thing, cause my dad used to fuss me all the time for the same stank.

I wonder is COVID plays a role in this. I swear my early teenaged daughter can still not smell. I literally tell her she stinks, and she says I’m lying. She smells nothing. It’s not the same as a teen boy not caring. She doesn’t smell the dog when he stinks etc. She literally cannot smell. I’m totally with you on this, though. It’s a PROBLEM! The dressing rooms in the junior department at Dillards during prom….I wanted to pass out
