There seem to be a lot of butt hurt fatties in this thread projecting the hatred for themselves onto a woman calling out their fatness in a funny way.

Thyroid issues make it more difficult to lose weight. Eating more calories than you burn makes you gain weight.

Mouton, bro, put the Protein shake down. People with an inactive thyroid bodies sometimes shutdown so much that their body burns only 500 calories a day because they are damn near a coma state. So even if they only eat a measly 1500 calories, they will have a 1000 calorie surplus and gain a ton of weight in a short amount of time. Do you now understand you roided up dumbass?

You really can't put a number on it because so many people aren't even checked for it..

I think I once saw like 12% have a thyroid condition. A lot of people with severe anxiety issues will often have a thyroid condition. There are also two different types of thyroid conditions which have different affects on the body. With that said, I do believe there are ways to help control it through diet. There is a fitness & wellness guru named Sean Croxton who talks about the affects of it all the time. He gives out free info via email and it's really interesting stuff.

I'm 6ft1 and 165-175 pounds all my life.. But I constantly feel fat/bloated all the time. Yet I'm constantly feeling the need to eat like crazy.. I often think I may a thyroid issue. Never got checked though.

If we compare that 12% to the % of obese folks there is still a large gap. To stop messaging for better health because 12% have a harder time it's epic stupid. Tons of people have conditions that prevent them from doing things and they don't get upset when folks talk about eating better and working out, even when they can't.

Yeah that is true plus her makeup is pretty bad. It looks like a color selection at a paint store

And on the real, that bitch could use a few more sandwiches.

No way. If this is the case, man, thyroid disease certainly swept across America in the matter of a decade. Go back and look at yearbooks or other group photos from the 1950s, 60s, 70s or 80s. Perfectly looking normal, thin kids and adults. Now if you put, say, an office of 40 people in a group photo, it'd be sad. 12 of them would be morbidly obese, 20-25 more would be 15-25 pounds overweight, and maybe 3-5 would be thin-to-normal weight.

I guess this country got a lot of cases of "bad thyroid" out of the blue...

Yeah, I was thinking it was more like .12%. 1.2% max. 12% seems completely outlandish.

What causes the problem?

I have no idea, but could fake sugars or genetically modified foods play a part?

I am only asking because I don't know a lot about the subject and therefore don't know the answer.

No, it's not fake sugars. It's REAL sugars- high fructose corn syrup and the real stuff. Our sweets, ranging from candy bars to ice creams to pastries, are WAY sweeter than those found around the world.

It's also portion sizes and the overall number of times we eat, starting with 500 calorie "coffees" that are nothing more than a Dairy Queen Blizzard in the morning to the 2000 calorie pasta lunch at restaurants.

Finally, Americans- as a whole and not individually of course- refuse to exercise. We don't walk or bike to work or do any cardio.
