For certain meds, I use Teledoc. I make an appt, they call, give them symptoms, they call in the script. Ten minutes tops from start to finish. They can’t do narcotics, but do most everything else.

It sounds like you should stop switching doctors and complicating things.

It's incredible that they STILL have not had a single malpractice claim filed against them. I think that's great, I'm just surprised. They won their court battle against the TX medical association, which led to me being able to establish care via telemedicine. But we're still very paranoid about missing a vital or something similar.

Maybe you need to take more responsibility for your health care and schedule your one year follow ups and sign releases of information so your doctors can share records. But instead let’s get mad that the doc just won’t simply write a Rx - I mean it’s a quick scribble on a pad or entry into computer and I pick it up at Walgreens. What’s the big deal.

Hell, the pediatrician I used for my older kids would flat out ask what I wanted him to prescribe. I feel better about the teledoc then I did about him. In certain instances they’ll ask for a video conference, I guess to give a once over, but no bp, pulse, O2, and more importantly no copay and 2 hours of my time.

you need to see your gp.
If you went to another GI doc, you did switch doctors. If you haven’t seen your specialist in years, they shouldn’t refill meds. Do you not see the abuse of medication that is rampant among Dr surfers

Why are you still calling your doctor's office on the phone? I communicate with mine online. Prescription refills, appointments, questions, etc. Very handy.

Should have married a doctor or at least live next door to one

Patients just won't let go of it. No matter how much I discourage them. Medical issues have to be sent via portal, for liability, but patients still prefer that damn, time consuming scheduling dance over the phone.

I'm not getting mad that the doctor won't write an Rx. I'm mad that it took 3 days to receive the response I anticipated (it's been over a year since we've last seen you; you'll need to come see us again), but I am dumbfounded at how simply visiting one other doctor one time leads this doctor's office to essentially write me off as a patient and require "approval" from the doctor before he sees me again. Sounds like I could just as easily go to another GI clinic and/or my GP to get a prescription for my pills, so what is the big deal?

Why didn’t you just tell them you needed to make an appt

Hindsight, but I guess just in case they are at least going to give me at least a hold over dose.
