Deinstitutionalization and Mass Murders

Could deinstitutionalization have contributed to the rise of mass shootings? Since 1976, there have been 20 mass murders a year on average. J. Reid Meloy, Ph.D., is a forensic psychologist who studied them. He found that mass murderers suffer mental illnesses that range from chronic psychotic disturbances and schizophrenia to paranoid disorders. They have the paranoid, narcissistic, and schizoid traits of personality disorders.

IMO, what is causing most of these shootings arent exactly mental health issues.

This is never going to decrease in frequency as long as we have a media that is determined to pit classes against one another every day.

It creates resentment when there should be joy. The poorest of the poor or the worst of the worst in America have it better than any other country.

cops really have the hardest job out there
__________

This is an under-appreciated sentiment.
I mean, the police get crapped on by the left yet they have to go out there and face a situation like this, or El Paso... yet somehow the police are our bad guys.

Just imagine waking up this morning as a decent cop and having to accept the possible challenge of a whackjob active shooter with an AR and hundreds of rounds. Then watching the news and seeing guys like Colin Kaepernick kneel when the anthem gets played because they think YOU are the bad guy....
Warped.

Define assault rifles.

That exercise will give you an idea.

I don't know why anyone would be opposed to universal background checks.

But what is an "assault rifle"?

Copycat effect.

The amount of publicity a shooter receives will perpetuate more mass shootings.

Imagine if we gave acts of kindness the same recognition?

Agree

Pop term for something that looks scary.

I can always tell who has very little knowledge of firearms when they start throwing this term around.

Then Twitter, CNN, and politicians would be out of business.
