Because it is a White guy killing a black girl. This type of story, although probably random, creates more click bait due to underlying racial tensions.
The media loves racial tension. They make tons of money off of it, which is why they will never let it die.

A buddy of mine told me about this story earlier. Verbatim "white girl shot a black high school graduate in traffic". I asked him. Did the news media say it like that? He said yes. Why is the msm driving a race war??

Do you think you maybe reading more into this than is there?
He shot the 18 year old in the head and eluded police for 3 days. It's a compelling story no matter what the races are.

It is a compelling and sad story, but it is hard for me to trust the media anymore. It is obvious, that they choose which stories to report based on how much controversy it will create.
