Yes you are correct. But that's entirely different than not listing a member of the household on the policy.
The insurance company can only accurately rate the risk if they are told who is living in the household. Otherwise you are lying and basically committing insurance fraud.

You'll have to ask his wife... apparently she handles all the man shite in that family

Good luck. You may want to start handling the important things if something like that gets overlooked. Unsure how that even happens unless you're trying to get out of paying outrageous rates on a teen driver. I don't blame you, but seems like fraud.

If she is not an excluded driver on the policy and you didn’t lie about her living in your household, you should be okay.

If this is a new insurance policy and you didn’t tell them you had someone of driving age living in the house so they could rate them, you may be screwed because they can deny for concealment/misrepresentation depending on how you filed your application for insurance.

This is blatantly false. Dont trust this advice.

Does your daughter live with you? If not, you may be okay, but it won't matter if you don't want property damages. Insurance will cover the damage to the other truck. Might get a cancelation notice though.

We had identical situation. Son was driving my truck to LSU from Gonzales. Ran red light and clipped a F150. Progressive paid the claim. Monthly prem for 3 vehicles went from 600/month went to 4 vehicles to $1200/month. Progressive was pissed.
Thats what you're facing now.

Poster definitely needs to leave out the part about the daughter regularly using it to go to work.
If living at home after being dropped from policy and if vehicle previously listed as mainly driven by daughter or used by her to only drive to work it’s going to be a more difficult to get around.
My auto insurance doesn’t make it easy to remove a college age kid. I can’t do it online, and I have to call and actually talk to a person who then pushes the negative aspects of dropping the kid off policy that I have to agree to understanding.

Basically, paid the damages. However charged you with “go away” rates. At this point I’ll be blessed if that’s our situation.
I handle the medical, dental, life insurance, mortgage company. My wife dealt with auto. I’m kicking myself in the arse for not asking questions. I f’ed this up big time. I know, too little, too late, but I’m taking it all over tomorrow. What the actual frick

Car has been at her dorm.
We’ve not talked to an adjuster yet. I’ll do the talking, my wife can go to her work from home job so nothing else is f’ed up.

It depend on your insurance company, they all
do it differently.
However, generally, if a resident of your household, they must be listed for coverage to apply. If not a resident and drive the vehicle more than a few times per month, they must be listed. Otherwise, if you simply let someone borrow your car for a one time deal and they get into an accident, permissive use applies and coverage is extended.
