I remember a quarter of a century ago Fayetteville sent experts to Austin to learn about population growth and need for infrastructure improvement.

Yall I love living in Fayetteville for past 32 years. But, although the food has gotten better over time and their bbq has become world class, they don't hold a candle to NOLA or Acadiana cuisine. Also, the music is pretty good but no where in the ball park of NOLA. And I do love to fly fish up here but sight casting for reds , catching speckled trout, or going blue water is a real treat just as good.

That must have been right after Baton Rouge did the same thing.

A couple of decades ago, WM told all their vendors that they had to have a NWA presence and that started a major growth boom which hasn't abated yet.
This man speaks the TRUTH!! NWA used to be…and I stress USED to be a hidden gem. If you like suburbs with terrible traffic aka Northshore with mountains, then NWA is great.
If you want to get away from soccer moms and crowds, then AR has better places.

NWA
tremendous fly fishing opportunities.
world class mountain biking
the greenway
still rural feel in spite of metro area over 500,000 people
great arts
world class museum
beautiful school facilities with highly rated education , private&public
Get to see LSU compete in sports up here
crime is very minimal
people are incredibly nice and no snobby folks
bbq
fairly low cost of doing business
easy to get to the country side with mountains and clear water rivers
Baum Stadium. Get to see LSU play every other year here.
Deer hunting
dove hunting
KC and Tulsa easy to get to
fall foliage ( most years)
great Latino culture up here with great beer and food
tremendous fly fishing opportunities.

My retirement property is in NWA. It's on the side of a small mountain, on a dirt and gravel road about 7 miles from a small town with a Walmart. (Best of both worlds
