Well it makes sense, its a liability for the players.

Cops take a job knowing the risk of death. This is a 24 yr old kid playing a game. STFU

It would be really weird for a 24 year old to have an aneurysm unless he had marfans or something

Traumatic aortic or other large artery dissection would be more likely

Maybe a pseudoaneurysm.

The players on that field tonight will likely never be the same after witnessing this on the field. Seeing a player go through this on the field changes your whole view of the game. The passion and heart for the game changes when it becomes a something much more than a game or job or whatever.

Maybe not every player, but a large percentage will never play it the same.

Aortic dissection much more likely from a violent collision but even that is unlikely to make you collapse in a few seconds.

You collapse real fast if it dissects into your coronary arteries or gives you a hemopericardium

Hope it wasn’t that. Had a friend die from one and a doc told me you could be in the hospital and not survive it.

Correct but I have a hard time believing that hit would result in such a massive dissection immediately. It usually takes some time to progress to being that large. I think that report is false.

This is insane. I saw it live and had no idea it would be this bad.

My buddy was telling his wife he was sick to his stomach and the next day he just fell out on a flight out to College Station.

Same. I honestly thought it was a concussion or neck.

Youtube of Dr. Damar Hamlin explaining what he is almost certain happened - LINK

If this turns out to be true, then the only reason it happened is because the new nfl rules. He had plenty of time to drop down and at least brace for impact…. the only problem with that is the last time he did that, he was ejected.

This one is squarely on the morons running the nfl

It was bad. Just the reaction was not good. Also don’t think they’d cancel for nothing life threatening.

Reminds me of coach leach everyone wanting the best but knowing the outcome is probably tragic :(

Would be so nice if we could push any pissing match into a sidebar thread so we could stick to the discussion at hand.
