I’ve lived in mega apartment complexes before (they suck) and it is actually very easy to walk into the wrong apartment. Every floor and door looks the same, so I do believe her story, particularly if she was tired from a long shift. I’ve done it myself a couple times, and also had other people walk into my apartment.
Did you just hear the prosecutor? She missed so many clues that she was on the wrong floor. She parked on the wrong floor to begin with. He said that can happen. Yet she passed 16 apartments with lighted apartment numbers, and a large urn with a plant that her neighbor has that is not on the 4th floor. One of the biggest clues is a bright red door mat that this gentleman has at his door that she does not and stands on it. She opened the door and doesn't see the bakers rack that she has in her apartment right at the entry. On the surface, it doesn't look good.

Interesting. In light of those factors, yeah, seems like she should have noticed it wasn’t her apartment. So I wonder what the real story is then. Seems doubtful she would just randomly decide to go shoot this guy for no reason. Was she drunk? Did they have a history? I admittedly don’t know a whole lot about this case.

"I thought this was my apartment" better not fricking work.
I think she is innocent up until the shooting. Why? She tried to get into an apartment that was directly above her apartment. Same hallway design..Same side of the building..Same number of doors from the elevator...wrong floor. She had the feeling of being familiar with the setting..Why didn't she notice the red door mat? I have no idea. But you have to ask yourself: Why would she just want to shoot some random guy? She just got off the phone with a booty call..She was getting ready to have some sex.

Has anyone argued against this? Most have simply said, it happens sometimes. Its not an excuse, it just does. You are on the phone, thinking about some hot chick you just met, texting, tired, drunk, etc. That's not an excuse, its a reason.
I'm not sure anyone has said there is an excuse or reason she should NOT go to jail for. With all the BS we put people in prison for, I'm simply arguing what is the sentence? Guys are acting like she should go to jail for life for making some dumbass mistakes. I just don't see this as murder, but a lighter sentence for being an idiot.

so instead of the girl framing it, the whole DPD was trying to. That's fricked anyway you slice it.
Caught a bit of the opening arguments and apparently the guy smoked pot regularly..So there was no frame up job..The pot was his.

I'm still figuring out how this dingbat went in to the wrong apartment.

They showed a few shots of her walking into court earlier on Fox.
May not be a looker but she's got a helluva nice bod.

It's almost like it's entirely irrelevant to this case and bush league victim blaming.

Exactly.
He could be sitting in his underwear shooting up heroin and it makes no difference to the case against her.

I agree..The media got their hands on the police report and put it out there..People blamed the police for trying to smear the guy..

The leader of the Next Generation Action Network said last week there will be protests. That is the same group that organized the march downtown where the officers were killed

What the hell are they protesting? By all accounts the prosecution seems to be doing their job now?

She told police she mistook his apartment for her own, opened the door, and saw a figure inside that she believed to be a burglar.
Wow, what a switcheroo.

I have zero confidence in our legal system, so I'll be surprised if she actually gets time for this.
I’m with you, for some strange reason.
I’ve followed this case and it just seems like this case has something missing. The presence of some weed and the jury demographics will be huge factors in this case, in my opinion.

I don't see the jury giving this very much weight at all

Are you saying this is a “ now imagine she’s white” situation?
