So 10 percent of just the greek population is 250,000-500,000. So unless the other 12-14.5 million college students that aren't greek smoke less than 5% in total the 5.9% would be correct.
I also found multiple links saying greek life was over 40% in total. I was very conservative with the numbers as well.

I tried weed 3 times. Didn't care for it for each time I used it. Not my cup of tea I guess.

I was in a fraternity at Ole Miss. By all accounts a big time party school. I think probably 5% of the guys smoked weed DAILY. I'm sure 100% had tried it, but smoking DAILY is not normal.
I smoked a lot of weed, but daily? No. I didn't smoke before class most of the time, I didn't smoke before going to the bar most of the time (makes me quiet) and there were certainly times it was dry in town or I had no money left to buy any.
DAILY is a strong word. Not a lot of people smoke daily for a lot of reasons, mostly being the cost of that for poor college kids and occasional periods where dealers are dried up.
