Without an undergrad degree in science is it possible to get a NP solely online while working another job? Can you even apply without work history as a nurse?

Reason why I got my MSN. Went into management because I got tired of 7-7 constantly. It was rewarding but the heap of BS that comes across your desk everyday is insane. Not to mention, the hospital wants you to do literally everything you can think of. I went back to school and did CRNA, which is the most beneficial of my career. I make well over 6 figures and I answer to one person only that I rarely talk to besides a few meetings. I work 20-30 hrs a week and get quality time with family.

You might want to look at being a vascular ultra sound tech. 2 years of night school. You can make decent money and once you get established you can be come a private contractor and make much better money. I have a buddy that is making 6 figures doing it.

Not sure if this was directed towards me on purpose, but I can guarantee you I'm not quitting CRNA to be an ultra sound tech.

Not myths at all. Majority of hospitals are trimming the fat, doing away with CNA's. This hits the night shift the hardest. Ochsner is one.

My brother is FNP (Family Nurse Practioner)

He was an RN in the ER for 8 years or so. Then went to the Cath Lab for another 10 or so. He went back to school to get his FNP and is liking it a lot. He works in a clinic where they do a lot of drug testing, return to work physicals, DOT physicals, the also treat industrial injuries and your everyday cold/flu/strep throat type things. I think the only thing he cant do is surgery under anesthesia or admit someone to a hospital, I may be wrong there.

You're going to be around so much pussy.

Unfortunately, they're all going to assume you're gay.

You need an bachelor's degree in Nursing, one in science won't get it.

And frankly how do you know you want to be a NP when you don't even know what is like to be an RN?

Need 1yr minimum, and that's the minimum, most have 5years or more experience.

This is what is fricking hilarious. Congrats for getting your CRNA but this is a big problem with hospitals. At some point they got into bed with the business of nurse education. You constantly are pressured to go back to school. Then they worry about the lack of bedside nurses? There is only so much room at the top. Do you think a nurse with an MSN is going to be wiping arse on the night shift every other weekend? Nope. They will look to management. They will HATE management by and large.

The best managers I have ever worked for are usually people who didn't want it. They took the job of necessity. They don't last though. They hate it. And they are eventually fired. Nurse management is like coaching. If you haven't been fired or made to resign or pushed out by a new higher up, you haven't been at it long enough. It's coming.

Also, you can't make people happy. You either are a manager who your employees love and management hates. Or you are a hospital manager who is only looking to advance to HCA type job CNO, COO. Your employees hate you and if you em aren't on the way up? You're on the way out. In addition if you run off too many staff members trying to implement the changes the admins want? You're gone.

One of the numerous reasons why I left the bedside.

I absolutely love my new role as an infection control nurse. No more 12 hour shifts and being expected to do the work of 2-3 people by myself on the floor. No more nights, weekends, holidays. And my new boss is very supportive and understanding. I can actually stay home when I'm sick instead of feeling guilted into coming to work because they are so short staffed or because I'm worried I'll get penalized for attendance points.

I think she is saying an LPN would have to work 3 full time jobs to make 100K.

Besides nursing homes and doctor's offices...I don't even know where LPNs could find jobs at nowadays. Seems like most hospitals got rid of LPNs.

That is the extent of them in Texas, no hospital that I know of employs them. Primary care offices do not even use them, they employ CNA's and train them to administer injections.
