Too much money to spend on a drivetrain again for me. I love my OEM SRAM Red anyways so I don't see a reason to upgrade. Need to get back to riding though... My quadzillas have turned into quadzards.

my jew behavior extended to my time at LSU in the 1980s when i had the 1980s equivalent of the wheelbuilder wheel.

i mean..ZERO advantage aero-wise except you can't show off your $4,500 ENVE disk at the start line.

Is that what you have? or did you make yours. This guy's came out pretty legit. Was going to follow his instructions.

UNI disk back in the 1980s

thats the wheelbuilder cover you see on the quintana

that guy above will lose because he has zero aero on the front and that will shave dozens and dozens of seconds off at a 40k TT

dont recommend full disk for the front.

eta memorize this:

I've got the stock Felt TTr3 wheels on my B12. They are like 43mm deep if I recall. If I do buy a wheel, it will likely be a Flo 60 and disc cover until I can afford a 60/90 set. I want a power meter too (not that competitive, but want to train properly to possibly knock out an Ironman), so budget is tight. Also may pick up a Rudy Project Wingspan (can be found cheap and seem to have good ventilation) helmet. So with that, I'd have sort of a decent "skinsuit" in my tri suit, aerobars, aero helmet, not a great front wheel although it's not a box rim, and a disc. If I get the FLo front wheel, I'd be even better off. I'm not going more than a 60 up front though, because I've felt a little sketchy with 20 mph cross winds and the 43mm rim up front.

Triguys

Just when I thought cyclists couldn't get any worse... Now there's tricyclists on the road?

very nice purchase but of little use to be honest unless you are racing.

i guess there are those who just like to see their FTP but don't want anyone else to know who buy them, but if you're not training for a tri or tt or race or gran fondo, a power meter is hubris.

Dude, last spring I rode a total of 200 miles total between about 5 rides then didn't ride last fall for 3 months straight and banged out 92 miles in one day at BAB.

Well I have never ridden a road bike for any exercise purpose.

It's more to keep yourself in the right zone. Especially in a race or when around others, I find myself going a little further than I should. Like if there's a girl swimming faster than me in the next lane, I try to keep up . Then after a about 15 minutes, I can barely make the rest of my workout. I'd like to know my FTP and keep it well below if I'm going to be riding 112 miles and have to do a marathon after. Otherwise, I'm going to be racing every person that passes me
