A Co-worker of mine brought his wife to the drive thru testing site at UNO. She had multiple symptoms including a fever and she feels like complete shite.

They told her that she did not meet the requirements to be tested because her fever was not 104 or higher.

So now they are going to the ER to see how she can get some help.

If she were to get tested, test results take 3-5 days to come back.

Feel bad for them, pretty shitty situation to be in.

Please forgive me, no pics of his wife.

Typo: 101.4 temp not 104

Seems like there is (or should be) a test before it gets to this stage.

That seems high. Is that specific to this location?

Thought it was now 24 to 48 hours.

Not that there is specific medicine they can give and a positive result probably means a more complete isolation, telling contacts, and a follow up by health officials, but if their test takes 2 to 3 days longer for results shouldn't they be focused on beginning or less extreme symptoms not 104 or higher temp? People with 104 temp or higher need to be told to go see a doctor regardless of what they have. If a doctor sent them there for test in first place they should be tested regardless of temperature.

Is she 75 years old and have existing at risk conditions? Are is she just panicking and clogging up the system for people that actually need help?

104 was a typo. Should have been 101.4.

I do t see her as being one to panic when she is sick. They pretty much can field a soccer team so I’m sure if she is saying that she is feeling bad, my guess is that she really is feeling like shite.

Hell I get the man flu when I get a little common cold.
