It kills me seeing this shite. Here’s the deal if you sell shite that no one wants to buy OR everyone sells the same shite, you have to set yourself apart with some customer service / value add.

But you want to sell something? You have to know who your customer is. So what is it that the customer actually wants? Is it your shitty product/service? Is it the savings that they’ll save buying your shitty product? Is it the status of buying the most prestigious shitty product? Or is it because they like negotiating for the sake of negotiating? What drives those frickers? Once you figure it out, give it to them. Then stfu. The next one that talks loses.

You don’t need an app or a training. If you don’t get that basic sales principle, you’ll never sell shite. Sales is about the easiest way to make a living. And guess what? Everything is sales.

Agree completely!!!

If I didn’t have to put all the updates, notes, meeting minutes, calls, emails, quotes, tasks, etc into my CRM each week, I could play at least 1 or 2 more rounds of golf a week.

Before you know it, you have a maze of “mandatory” (but not required) shite you have to remember to enter, pages you have to jump between, loading screens, etc. to navigate - on top of being expected to log all kinds of sales activities in various different places - just to respond to a damned request for quote.

I don’t usually bitch about Salesforce, but it really is tiresome spending so much of your time literally checking boxes instead of dealing with real-world problems and opportunities. As a simple tool to track leads, contacts, and opportunities, Salesforce is great. It’s all of the crap that gets added in the name of reporting that makes it tedious.

Entirely valid. If I could, I'd eliminate over half the inputs they have.

Recently they wanted a report based on manufacturer. We only sell about 8 different manufacturers. When I ran the report it came back with 18 companies. Since we previously let them manually input the manufacturer title, they were putting

ABC
Alpha Bravo C
Alpha Bravo Company
ABC manufacturing

all for the same manufacturer. Thus the report shows 18 companies.

So.... I have to go and create a picklist and then say "use this from now on." 2 weeks into the year and people have kept using the old one with different names. I can't delete the old one, because then i would have to go back and retroactively picklist 12 years and thousands of opportunities to relabel.

I can only give you the tools you people ask for, I can't make you use them properly.

and also... i'm a freaking Security Engineer. Not a DBA.

Salesforce is a boil on a salesmen's arse.

Biggest waste of time and money ever.
