My CLECO bill for February is almost $500. My house is ~1600 sqft.

Is this happening because of the ice storm? You baws gettin charged this much?

I was worried about it, but my bill wasn't bad at all considering the weather only about 10% higher, but my heater was running nonstop

Move out of the sticks, baw.

J/k - my bill was surprisingly stable, including natural gas.

I mean, it wasn't "Winter" low, but I wasn't expecting that. It was average for non-Summer.

Same here. Baw probably needs better insulation.

No shite! When the ice hit I noticed my house was one of only a couple on my street with ice not melting on the rooftop. My attic is insulated very well so no heat was escaping into the attic. It’s easy to tell which homes have well-insulated attics and which don’t during ice or frost by looking at the roofs.

Yeah. I'm guessing this is the cause, but still.

Mine was extremely cheap. First bill from a new provider. I was with griddy up until the freeze then switched. Got my first bill and it was only $40. House is 2000 sq ft. I was expecting it to be around $150.

My snowstorm bill after more than a week below freezing was only about 20% higher than a normal winter month.

People in my area were having huge bills after the blizzard in mid February. Mine was only 80 bucks. It pays to lower the thermostat a few degrees for sure when its bitter cold.
