So much truth to this. Add in that the major players in these these cases are usually related to the law enforcement investigating them and you have a really toxic mix. Most don't realize that there are hundreds of thousands of acres of privately held land in the Delta, wide open farmland dotted with bottomland sloughs and lakes. Impossible for law enforcement unfamiliar with the area to search and canvass. Every sleepy Delta town of a few thousand people has 10-15 stories of people who just went missing and weren't seen again.

The Muhammad and Malvo sniper team had people in the DC area terrified for an entire month. Those lunatics had earlier shot two in Louisiana.

It wasn't Jessica Chambers boyfriend. And he didn't kill his "room mate" in Monroe. He killed an exchange student.

Keddie murders
Mother, son, daughter and son's friend killed with hammers while three other kids were left alive in the cabin.
It's got it all. Police coverup, one of the murderers was mafia and under the witness protection program, other murderer confessed...to this day, no one has been charged or convicted. The case got pretty hot about a year ago (murders took place in the early 80's). Hopefully at least the DOJ and LEO officers involved will be convicted, as one of the murderers is dead and one may still be alive and faked his death certificate.
