This must be my tether to the other universe because I actually remember it that way.

Me too. They say Mikey won't eat it because he hates everything. Then Mikey eats it and they say "MIKEY LIKES IT!"

even if this was linked to CNN it would still be a blind link b/c you gave us frick all for the context of what it will be about other than a random "conspiracy" tag in the header.

They're not all universal. I remember chartreuse the greenish yellow it is in this universe. But a lot of people remember is as being similar to mauve or some shade of blue.

Well maybe you grew up after it had been altered.

We used to call people who were very unpicky about food "Mikey" because Mikey would eat anything. People would say "he's like Mikey, he'll eat anything hahaha"

this is all pre-internet and SO MANY PEOPLE (including me) pronounced it stein

There has to be some linguistic explanation.

I wonder if it's the fact that "stein" is a popular spelling and pronunciation for Jewish last names. How many "-steins" have been in movies? I know there's Harvey Weinstein, and I'm certain that are many others.

On the other hand, it's rare for there to be a last name with "stain" on the end, both in spelling and phonetic pronunciation.

I would imagine this influenced us as kids to just see and hear "stein" because that's what was common.

Yup. That's how most people remember it, including me.

Also - New Zealand is not northeast of Australia or alongside it. It's southeast of Australia.

My inlaws will jokingly call me Mikey because I will eat anything. Which would make no sense if Mikey hated everything.

Think about how many big movies since the 80s have been about time traveling and altering events to change the future. Not just time travel in general but that very specific theme. They're trying to warn us

Chartreuse was 100% a blueish shade when I used crayons as a kid. I remember that clearly, better than any of the others.

Also, South America is not south of North America, it's southeast of us.

EDIT - Brazil is actually about 500 miles closer to Africa than New York City is to Los Angeles.
