Do the old books say Stain or not?

I'll look when I get home. Everyone pronounced it Stein, clearly.

Parnell universe? Bitch please

They say Stain, I have some old books my wife had when she was a kid, they all say STAIN

I think about this a lot, too. You are not alone.

Never heard of him before this thread. His jokes/comments are very hit or miss, and being in the right mood is probably key, but some of his shite had me rolling.

So you've had multiple occasions where you should have been killed...and should have been arrested multiple times as well?

My man, get your shite together.

your consciousness would just instantly jump over into the practically identical parallel universe where you hadn't and you would never realize that you had died in the other reality.

Since I'm putting a lot of weight in this one, I wonder in this theory's case, how old you can actually get. Are "accidental" deaths the only ones "protected" I wonder if there is ever a reset where you are "born again" into your own body as a baby, is that dying of "natural causes" and at the same time you are reborn?

This is my own thread and my head hurts.

There is some thought to this science

The consciousness being separate from the body. Doctors and scientists are trying to see if they can segregate the consciousness from the mind

It is interesting to draw the differences between sleep and being put under anesthesia

i suppose it could possibly explain out of body experiences although I am not sure how that could explain how the consciousness is capable of seeing and viewing the world without the faculties of the body

Crazier to think about though is that if science ever does discover that consciousness can be separated from the body, this may perhaps make the idea of reincarnation not seem so crazy. If you can conclude that your consciousness can be separated from your body it would not be so crazy to think that perhaps parts of your consciousness could find itself in another host body

This was all in my teenage years/ late 20's (im 32 now) but yes.

I've *almost* drowned 3 times only to be saved by someone.

I've gotten into 3-4 major wrecks (total losses) only driving 2 of them, passenger in 2

Some friends and I were chased and shot at with a shotgun on some farmers property.

The arrests were mainly DUI's i wont go into the details of but I was young and I never got charged, somehow. More than 4 times the cops just literally let me go.

Reminds me of Enter the Void by Gaspar Noé. The idea being that since certain drugs can completely alter our perception of time, time, as we experience it, is subjective. As such, what if at the moment of death our brain releases chemical similar say, to DMT, and that final second, in terms of our perception, stretches into a super-trip that seems to last an eternity - and this is what we call heaven or the afterlife - even if it only occurs in the blink of an eye to the normal perception of a bystander who is watching you expire.

That movie is crazy, DMT is crazy. Another good theory but not for this thread. I like that one as well though. I've also thought about that one on my own before seeing that film.

Nice. I pretty much drowned one time when I was a kid. We had a really heavy duty circular Budweiser float thing in the pool, with a thick arse rope lining the outside of it. I dove in and my head went between the float and rope and after freaking the frick out for a bit, I was trapped under the float...and wasn't even close to being strong enough to left this thing or break the suction, especially because I was in the deep end.

I don't remember ANYTHING but freaking out for a split second. Our house was getting painted and one of the guys saw me "floating" under this thing and jumped in and saved me.

It scares the shite out of me thinking about my parents potentially walking out to the pool and seeing my dead body trapped under the float

I also have a DUI that got dropped. And multiple times I've been with people who should have received them(couple times I was holding cups and bottles of alcohol), only to be told to drive home after an angry lecture.

Are we the same person?

My privilege has definitely been tested

In one of those instances, I was sitting in the back seat. Cop told me to roll down my window. I cracked it about 2 inches and put my eyes up to the crack and just stared at the guy He replied..."ok get the frick out." When I swung the door open it revealed the 2 bottles of whatever and about 5 cups(half full) in my lap and between my feet. Somehow, we talked our way out of it.

Was with my buddy when he got pulled over by a lady cop. He ended up with her number and name(to find her on FB) before she let us go.

My DUI(surprisingly only had 3 drinks on this occasion) was dropped because the guy who arrested me had been exchanging sex for letting females out of tickets and stuff.

I'd rather be the Berenstein version. The Berenstein universe seems like it was a simpler, happier place than the Berenstain one. Mikey will eat anything in the Berenstein universe. Mikey is hateful in Berenstain. Speaks to the fundamental differences in the two realms. It's like the Twilight Zone here in Berenstain.

I have a buddy who knocked off someone's mirror while pulling out of a parking lot at a night club. The police officer was 5 yards from us in his vehicle so he just turned on his lights and stepped out. My buddy was in the military at the time and he was drunk enough for a DUI, but the officer was ex-military and told him as long as the driver of the other vehicle was OK without pressing any charges or an accident report, he wouldn't do anything about it.

Fast forward to the other driver coming to her vehicle with a group of friends 15 minutes later. She freaks out at first since her driver-side mirror is in shambles, but my buddy and the cop talk to her and calm her down. We give her $400 cash and our phone numbers in case it ends up being more to have it replaced and everyone leaves peacefully. 20 minutes later she starts texting my buddy that she thought he was cute and they ended up hooking up the following night. Pretty surreal experience for me being sober the whole time...
