have been invited to have lunch with some people from work to celebrate a co-worker's birthday. I had not heard of the restaurant so I looked it up online for the address. I found out that it is a vegan restaurant. I looked at the menu and there is not one thing on it that I would be willing to eat. My choices are to go, order a drink, and say that I am not hungry or to not go and send a gift with someone who is going. Has anyone ever been in a situation like this and what did you do?

That in the entire menu you can’t find anything you can stomach even with some minor accommodations is either an indictment on you or this restaurant is way out of bounds.

Friend,

While once I was afraid of vegan food, I have come to enjoy it. There are two types of vegan food in my experience. First, the whole food vegan food, which is basically eating fruits, grains, and vegetables without much adulteration. While healthiest, I doubt many vegan restaurants do this because it is so easy to do at home. If eating real food like this is bad, I do not want to be right. Second, there is vegan food that creatively recreates nonvegan food, like impossible meat. Vegan sushi masquerading as salmon and tuna, when done right, is excellent.

Vegan food of the first kind would make a healthier and more productive nation. Vegan food of both kinds is much more energy efficient and is far less taxing on the land. I do not understand the rationale of the anti-vegan agenda.

Yours,

Normally I'm against women getting involved in Men's tomfoolery but that was a solid response.

Bullshite. Processed grains, sugars and excessive carbs are what are killing this nation, NOT meat. Besides, most vegans are malnourished and unhealthy.

Humans evolved to have incisors for a reason. We’re omnivores.

In situations like this, I rely on the fact that Tabasco is vegan.
