Doesn't matter what you drive to and fro from work, it's just a commute.
I am close to selling my car and buying an older model commuter car, it's just for driving to the office.
I'd rather have a bad-arse family vehicle to enjoy on our off time.

Your co-workers a douche for openly saying something like that. But outside of the south (and certain parts in the midwest). You don't see too many professionals driving full-size pickups.
Also, the luxury car/suv field has exploded. It's not just BMW & Mercedes

Oilfield baws are a different breed. My FIL is in the same situation, pretty much every vehicle in their lot is a truck.
The Jersey guy is probably correct in 75% of the country, but in Louisiana (mostly outside of New Orleans) professional baws drive trucks.

UPDATE:
I just let him read y'alls responses he said and I quote...
"Bro those are a bunch of pussy arse nerds bragging about shite they don't own. I bet they are all virgins whacking off to porn between typing shite catfishing each into thinking they are cool."
I told him to prepare your anus they are going to be brutal on me/you for this.
He said, "frick them fagg0ts, I'm getting laid tonight while they will be spending tonight talking to you about how much of a douche I am"

I could understand this if I had some Nitto Mud Grapplers that were 35's, but I have some BFG All-Terrain's that are 33's. Not near as aggressive as they could be and definitely not big. My truck is only leveled too.

So, I don't know about anyone else but a pickup is to have around I live because of flooding. I can drive through flooded roads that cars can't.
