Weekly electricity use in Texas is edging closer to the pre-coronavirus days, likely reflecting a pick-up in economic activity after dipping during the Spring when parts of Texas were under stay-at-home mandates.

Electricity consumption in Texas was down less than 1 percent during the week beginning Sunday, July 5, according to the state grid manager Electric Reliability Council of Texas. In May, the grid manager measured weeks when power use was down as much as 4 percent and in April when it fell as much as 5 percent.
