I don't think anyone on our parish council has a degree, if they do they sure don't act like it.

Having a degree even Ivy League is no assurance a candidate will be capable of being effective at the job. Congress Woman Shelia Jackson Lee has a B.A. from Yale, and a J.D. from U.Va. and is completely ignorant.
