Wait till next month and football starts to ramp up. I can just imagine the horrible optics for Bama being run on Sports Center. This is a Sheriff's Office and DC Hospital nightmare in the making. This young woman was done wrong, terribly wrong by those 2 entities. It shouldn't be, but Bama has more to lose than them. But frick them all, Megan's life was destroyed by a bastard and Daddy's money and the people that reaped in the cash.

Sports Center, that's stupid and hilarious all at once. Plenty of raped LSU posters up in here.

Closer than you think, pardner. I said in my post that the University getting slapped around is LARGELY undeserved. I do NOT want an SEC institution in a PSU type scandal. It will cost LSU money too, baw. But, you can stick your head in the sand, this girl was done wrong, bad wrong and this thing could explode beyond belief.

And condemn TPD and DCH. That certainly looks to be fair. But good lord at some of you trying your hardest to place blame on athletics.

I am not TRYING NOR ADVOCATING blame for the university and athletics. Period!
I want us to fix our own house, amd then kick your arse on the FIELD when you are at your zenith. Not due to a bastard, his family, and corrupt city officials.
I am not the average on here praying this causes the collapse of Bama football.

The only thing about Bama that will be discussed on Sports Center will be another title run.....that and they will likely have a good chuckle at LSU when when we make it 7 in a row.

It's pretty disgusting that all you can do is talk about football in a thread about a girl's suicide caused by rape.

The smart people in this thread know what the root cause is at Alabama and the rape culture it envelops. Money Wags the dog at Bama and if Nick Saban had a decent bone in his body he'd give back to that Community instead of monetarily raping it over and over again

I talk about sports in relation to the money which is the reason why mr. Bunn walked free. You think if this was some poor black guy that raped Meagan he would have been treated the same way? Fug no.

Donald Watkins says he will present his answer to the University's involvement on Sunday (he may just say their silence means that they are supporting him) - so he may come in an support your accusations - or he may just present your same questions.

Curious to see what it says, but I wish he would just write the story instead of "stay tuned till next week" and using such hyperbolic language these three paragraphs just do not have the same level of confident fact finding as in prior posts of his.

quote:

Is this deafening silence tied to the Bunn family's cozy relationship with the University and the University's incestuous relationship with Tuscaloosa Sheriff Ron Abernathy and his wife Leslie? Is it designed to send a direct and overt message to Tuscaloosa's oligarchy that the University will protect its members under the most difficult circumstances? Is the University knowingly and willingly facilitating Sheriff Abernathy's cover-up in Megan's case? If so, how and why? Has the University chosen to elevate and safeguard its strategic relationships with the Bunn family and Sheriff Abernathy over the competing interests in protecting female students from rape and pursuing criminal justice in Megan's case? If so, why?

Alas - I will be out of the office for a work continuing education course next week and will be driving to Atlanta as we come to what i assume will be the conclusions of the accusations. I'll try to drop in a bit, but they are kind of dicks about using the computer in the class.

Will there be new evidence implicating Alabama or will there simply be one guys idea of what happened based on circumstantial evidence and tenuous connections - stay tuned next week.

of course not, but again that doesn't necessitate it being related to sports, i always thought bunns' protection was much more simply explained as rich dude in small town - which is still a very bad look from the outsiders perspective for tuscaloosa and therefore UA - maybe i'll be proven wrong but that is how it looked.

Disregarding the obvious morality issues - it just doesn't seem to makes sense, but the leadership could be idiots i guess, to protect a guy whose whole family has given a lifetime donations somewhere between $100,000 - $500,000 - assuming like 25 years - that is tops $20,000 a years - a drop in the bucket. But maybe they are friends with bunn - intent is hard to prove but protecting that seems incredibly short sided.

Yes and no. No athletes were involved. Top brass is mingled in up to their eyebrows. This does not mean they did anything wrong but they are intermingled on many projects.

I'm speaking of intent really, its impossible to prove intent, but protecting this one family for the amount of money they are reported to giving relative to the overall football revenue and what any sort of cover up coming out could do to that revenue doesn't make any sense in my mind.
