Their check out personnel make me nervous. They'll scan all 25 items in my basket in about 3.3 seconds and then hit me with a $400 total.

I wouldn't either...
In college we went to buy hunch punch ingredients at Wal-Mart, and we ended up getting ~35 cranberry juices for free.
We let her scan each individual item and told the cashier the quantity for each item, but she ended up only putting us down for 1 giant cranberry juice.
We didn't catch it until we got back and saw that the receipt was a hundred or so short of our budgeted total

Yep.. Seen that game before. Nevermind scanning those 8 packs of baby backs , 4 are the checkers after work..

The worst are the Walmart receipt checkers. Most of the time I just avoid eye contact and keep walking. I always self check so they have recordings of all of my purchases.

Hate to tell yall but I can see this being the normal in every major box store before to long. Not just a token ex retired person but a actual guards. as in most of Central and South America -- we will become alot more like them as crime keeps spiking.
