I was at my local Costco today and noticed they are selling a full Synthetic motor oil under the Kirkland brand. 2 5qt jugs for 24.99. That is getting pretty cheap for synthetic.

And no the oil fee is not per qt that is per box.

I can see the track guys using some of this stuff; go through a lot of oil/oil changes if you're serious about it.

A DD under warranty? I'd just use the OEM fill.

I'm sure it is. Used to be Warren, they made the Walmart brands and some name brands as well.

Maybe I’m in the minority but I don’t trust that crap. Soon as my warranty goes out I always stop using 0W-20 my truck recommends and swap to 5w-30 regular oil.

Engines always go over 200k miles. My moms Tahoe using the recommended oil engine went out before 100k cause the lifters got worn out

I’ve always used the Mobil 1 filter and Mobil 1 at 10k drain intervals. Admittedly I’m a little biased.......Dad was an engineer with Mobil for 35 years. I’m afraid he’d start spinning in his grave if I used anything else.

Quality thread.

Would read again.

Have had many sleepless nights worrying about availability and pricing of Synthetic Earl at Costco.

I picked up a case. Glad my Civic Si takes 5w30.

That is highway robbery for 5 quarts.

That's all I've ever run in anything high-performance I've had.
It is the factory-fill for just about all the high-end sports cars.
