I moved locally a few years back and I had everything packed. They took everything on and off the truck. Ended up being about $1000 including the tip.

Tip: nail down the price beforehand as specifically as you can.

I’ve had local movers quote me x number of movers for x number of hours. We agreed on the price.

But then they have an extra guy or two show up “to help” and try to jack up the price when it’s time to settle up.

So will being moving the week after the 4th and due to an injury I will not be able to lift anything or help much in the moving.

Instead of relying on family I am thinking of just hiring a moving company. Anyone have an idea on what it would cost? Everything should easily fit on one truck.

Tia

I hadn't moved in a few years but rented a U-Haul for my daughter a couple weeks ago in Baton Rouge.
The website to rent the U-Haul(From a storage facility on perkins near bluebonnet) had a nifty feature to also hire moving help.
They offered quite a few options and prices. Two off the top were listed as:
* 2 movers at $75/hr
* 3 movers at $120/hr

We didn't need any help for her move but it definitely piqued my interest for our next move.

When I moved a few years back up in Minnesota it cost me about $500 buck but I didn’t have a ton of stuff.
