Dude, Cosby said they were Benadryl, but come on, we know they were Quaaludes or something like that because he was on record during a civil trial saying he used Quaaludes on women he wanted to have sex with.
Isn't this one of the more--or most--recent incidents? I thought most had passed the statute of limitations. Where's anybody getting Quaaludes in the past 25 years? I'm quite sure he's guilty of this--make no mistake. But I'm not sure the case has been made beyond. A reasonable doubt. Granted, though, I have kept up with very little, getting snippets of commentary on the usual news outlets.

I haven't followed the story closely but I'm always skeptical about these old unprovable claims. Then suddenly numerous women pile on. It bothers me that he cannot possibly defend himself Bc of the time lapse. There will be zero physical evidence, just a swearing match. And I wouldn't feel comfortable putting a man in prison on nothing more than the self serving words of a woman about something that maybe happened decades ago.

Cosby is a monster but he didn't rape all 57 of these women.
Yeah, he probably only raped about 54 of them.

Self-serving? What do you think they get paid for him going to jail or something?

If Cosby raped someone he should go to jail. But is it allegations always seem to be made after a controversial statement. 2004 Cosby makes a speech critical of blacks to the NAACP. 2005 claims of rape start.
It is ashame this is a thought but we have all heard negative false claims to try and change public opinion of someone.

Is there not a civil suit?
And besides that, saying "why would she make this up?" isn't proof. People lie for any number of reasons. We can't know someone's motives and we can't read their minds. It's still just a swearing match and I wouldn't send someone to prison without anything more.

Not that I'm aware of. I believe one was settled in 2006 and it isn't being admitted in the criminal proceedings.

Looks like there may still be a couple pending, I don't know.

Ah.
he probably really did it. Or he did something to someone. But these types of cases make me uncomfortable. Literally any person from your past can suddenly come forward and claim rape. Any one you've ever babysat, coached, tutored, spent any time with at all. No evidence required except the accusation. That's just not proof beyond reasonable doubt yet men routinely go to prison on such charges.

Call me when 50+ people come forward saying I raped them in the exact same way.

People "routinely" get convicted and sent to jail when there isn't proof beyond a reasonable doubt?

No he did that shite and is a POS of the highest order. Deal with it.
What is the proof? The number of women who came forward with allegations?

Yes. The system isn't perfect. And the juries will convict based on nothing more than a persons testimony. It happens often.

This makes the case stronger, but then again how hard would it be for an unscrupulous woman to make up a charge against him now?
Posted on 6/16/17 at 11:03 am to Rakim
The jury just asked for the definition of reasonable doubt.

You can blame the victim all you want, but I'm telling you her lawyer is going to frick him up in the civil case deposition. I don't think they can pin criminal charges on him, but with a preponderance of the evidence, he will have much more trouble escaping liability for being a douche bag rapist.
