Coronavirus..”We will never know if we overreacted”

This was said from the beginning and is still stated now. It is frustrating because it’s designed in a way that whoever says it is right no matter what the outcome. A huge amount of deaths, hospitals being overrun, etc is predicted, but then if it doesn’t happen it’s just because of all the measures taken to prevent the spread caused these to not take place. —————————————————————- However the mortality rate turned out to be significantly lower than initially thought. Also we learned that outside of super rare or freak occurrences, really only a very, very small percentage of people are at any risk of having any real complications if they were to contract the virus (those that have other serious health issues and the very elderly). The vast majority of the 40 million people who are out of work are at virtually zero risk of dying or even having serious complications due to the coronavirus because the vast majority don’t fit in either of the aforementioned categories. - ————————————————————- - Given the much lower mortality rate, knowledge of who the virus is dangerous too, combined with the fact that it was here in January and no one was “distancing” or taking any preventative measures throughout February. Do you agree with the statement that “we will never know if we overreacted” or do you find this statement problematic?
