A meeting of local health officials, Emergency Preparedness officials, EMS, police, and fire personnel, etc, etc was just conducted. Here is some recent info regarding Covid19.

- You're not going to get it by passing someone in a store. You need to be within 2-3 ft of a symptomatic person for 15-20 minutes to be considered exposed.

-Coronavirus can live on surfaces for 12-24 hours (not weeks) so don't touch door handles, shake hands, etc and wash your hands frequently.

-Children are less susceptible to the virus than you baws on the rant.

-The elderly and chronically ill are the high risk group.

-Most people who contract the virus will exhibit cold and minor flu symptoms.

I'm just passing on the latest info passed on to first responders. Do with it what you will.

I don’t think anyone expected to catch it in passing, the surfaces in the grocery store are what you need to be worried about.

Well if everyone doesn't touch the door handle, then everyone is touching not the door handle, and thus, everyone is touching the same thing.

Unless something has changed, this is not correct. It can stay airborne for up to 3 hours in the right conditions.

Yeah store shelves, things like elevator buttons, stair rails, door handles, etc will be the things to avoid if at all possible.
