Nate Silver:

The slowdown in new cases in Italy has been concentrated in Lombardy, the worst-affected region.

Lombardy has seen a 27% drop in new cases over the previous 4 days (3/22 thru 3/25), as compared to the 4 days before that (3/18 thru 3/21).

90? And the doc said go to the hospital?

Look .. if you're my husband and father of my children I'd be dragging you to the ER even if I was sick.

GO.

ETA: I pray that you have life insurance. DUDE GO TO THE HOSPITAL. I don't like them either .. but geeze just go!

Yeah, especially since he already has it. I could understand if you’re not sure and don’t want to risk catching it if you don’t have it. Better to get yourself there when you are able than to wait for it to go south quick and having to call 911.

I can't remember how old he said that he is. I'm not a nurse but do work in healthcare and an O2 of 90 isn't good.

Commander, go to the hospital and sit in your car -- that way at least you're "closer" when/if you start feeling really really bad. I know that sounds super dumb but ...

87 or below you need to go to the ER immediately. 90, you’re fine

I think he's in his 40's. He did post it many pages ago. Didn't he also say he has an underlying condition?

I don't believe any of us that aren't MDs or nurses in this thread are making any claims of expertise. We do know that a member of this board is sick with it and he isn't getting better. We're just encouraging him to follow his doctors suggestion (order?).

My oxygen got as low as 90 last night.
I'm putting everyone presumed positive on 4L for less than 95%

My doctor thinks I should go to the hospital but I am pretty stubborn. If my oxygen drops again I will go but I am hoping it doesn't.
That might be too late
I hate hospitals.

Nashville morning update. @TheCaterpillar any idea where he's getting these? He's still claiming fewer hospitalizations than you're claiming. Are the cases you're referring to still pending results in testing?

Mine are confirmed positive and sitting in our beds as inpatients at the moment.

I honestly don't know what he's looking at. I know the Johns Hopkins numbers are often 2-3 days behind.

We are reporting twice daily to the state apparently. I don't have a line into Cooper's office, but I sure wish I knew who did. I just asked our COVID data team if they know where the disconnect is. We'll see...I'm telling you it's still 30+ in the market most likely.

Ohio governor finally released the number of tests performed.
14,764 with 704 positive so it's running around 5%.
16% of the positives are healthcare workers.
Sorry, no fancy pie chart.

This has probably been asked somewhere in this massive thread, but...

If symptoms are typical at five days, and testing is taking four to seven days, how far back are the current results reporting? Is the March 25 data reporting the status of March 15 (before any restrictions were placed)?

Interesting take.

I do like them using whole data for their groups. They can get complete info even if it is just a small sample.

I question if using NBA players in a normal city and US citizens amoung a chinese city could skew along the lines of a crowd that is more separated from the general public experiences in their respective countries. Basically they were shielded from as many contacts.

Tiguar, quick question. Since I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP nightly.....in the event that I develop any symptoms in the future, should I continue using the CPAP? I assume that I should, but curious as I’ve seen positive airway pressure being mentioned as a treatment being administer in hospitals.

I would think it’s okay to use. The main issue with cpap/bipap is they put virus everywhere on infected people. If you love alone or everyone is infected, not a big deal
