Being driven higher by hospital groups only testing symptomatic patients again...Except from NOLA. Com article below is about Ochsner.
After changing protocols to only test symptomatic patients at urgent care clinics due to a shortage of tests, Thomas said it is working with Abbott Laboratories, a medical device company, to double testing capacity within the next four to six weeks.

It’s being driven higher by counting repeat tests
They did 22,000 tests the other day. I promise you there aren’t 22,000 symptomatic people per day.

There's no rhyme or reason why they change their testing methods other than smoke and mirrors.
If they aren't seeing what they want to see, the LDH simply changes what it's looking for or how it categorizes it. Voila... instantly get what we're looking for.
It's why I havent changed a damn thing about what my day looks like. Louisiana has been and always will be corrupt.

But they aren’t limiting tests to only asymptomatic people. I’ve been tested twice in the last ten days and have never shown a symptom.
BR has massive drive thru testing sites set up, and asymptomatic people can get tested at those places as well as the urgent care clinics

This entire debacle has been a mess. We make decisions after decision on changing and inconsistent data that has no consistency. Its makes no sense at all what we are doing

Less asymptomatic people are tested, due to tests running low, so naturally only symptomatic patients being tested means percent positive goes up, and then politicians use this as "trend" and reasoning to increase lockdown measures, instead of noting the obvious reason why
You are ok with that? Why? It isnt difficult to keep track of all this and know your sampling measures. Without having controls on the testing samples, all of this tracking is 100% meaningless

So asking for consistent parameters to judge by is unreasonable?
If it’s total case numbers, shouldn’t it be normalized to the number of tests So we are looking at apples to apples? If it’s percent positive shouldn’t we have uniform criteria for testing?
Why is wanting transparent and consistent guidelines for decision making unrealistic? Oh that’s right, you just don’t like people criticizing the government through this

You think having consistent control measures on data samples is worthless/asking too much
At this point, there is no true way to make any real inference from any of the testing data because they have not been able to log manage the parameters around the sample set. If you dont see that, your discussion on this topic is useless

Our mayor is begging people to test that have no symptoms to get our percentage down
