It's just like a customer calling the police for a store that won't do a return on a product.

Nah not worth it. I do know the sheriff personally but it’s not worth a cop‘s wrath.

You know the sheriff personally?

As in friend, neighbor, relative, hunting buddy “personally”?

Or he arrested you before “personally”?

Why don’t you tell the Sheriff his people suck? Maybe he doesn’t realize it?

Or maybe your whole sob story is ridiculous?

So what is the purpose of filing? To intimidate someone? Sounds kinda like extortion.

To protect myself.

Ahhhhh the ol flip the script tactic. Won’t work.

You can but I wanted to see an actual cop.

If the report sucks (which I’m betting it will) then I’ll file another one online.

Or maybe some cops lie and set people up to be arrested and sent to jail for life. Seen it happen. Nah a lot of cops are borderline criminals themselves in addition to knowing a ton of criminals to do dirty work.

It’s not worth it.

Legitimate extortion is a rare crime.

Do you have more facts about this extortion?

If it was "someone tried to extort some money from me on the web," I could see why they might not be inclined to file a report.

If it’s civil and not criminal, it’s not their report

I used to be in law enforcement. I know how it is. I even told them this to just maybe calm the agitated guy down. They didn’t give a shite. So much for brotherhood.

You definitely either worked for a tiny town writing speeding tickets all day or got terminated and hold a grudge.

Your cousin working with the sheriff’s wife doesn’t mean shite. Everyone claims they know the sheriff of every county/parish.

Hell I stopped to help a lone cop on the ground by his cruiser at night in a empty parking lot spitting and coughing up blood. Called 911. The cops were jerks to me as I was waiting for a supervisor to take my statement.

Well this happens when you are black. I never have trouble with them when I go in to report something. I get taken to the lounge for a beer and relaxation while the work on my case. Unfortunately they solve it so quickly I can barely finish my 2nd beer. Bummer for you OP.

Chicks don't have this problem

Some are cool. Unfortunately they have to go into some kind of defense prick mode until they have to figure out if you are legit or not.

Last cop I had to flag down was a pretty cool dude, but I definitely dealt with the same prices as others have.
