I imagine being in a brotherhood at a prestigious, Ivy League type school has its privileges.
A frat guy at a school like LSU, West Virginia, or the like is just douchey and honestly pretty trashy. It screams, I was a loser in high school and here’s my second chance to be cool. It’s right up there with making it known you’re a ‘member’ at a public golf course.
College is for educational purposes.

I never get this boards disdain for frats. From a culture that pays to join a Mardi Gras crew, a hunting lease, or a golf club, it’s all relatively the same. All of these groups are just group of guys who have similar interests as you, although the cost and experience might be different. A frat is just the first level of this type of arrangement yet it’s probably the longest lasting and potentially greatest long term value.
