The guy already shot her mother, father, and grandmother.

He pulled the trigger once while gun was at her head.

And you think the cop acted recklessly?

I don’t blame her if she did, but did that hostage piss her pants.

Maybe.

But, if that cop is off, I'm dead.

This should further serve the point that police really don't care about you're life. They will stop the threat, no matter what.
Lol What an asinine statement. And if the cop takes no action (like the ones in the recent school shooting) they'd lose their jobs.

You need to know that cops pattern their shotguns and understand how tight the shot will hit at varying distances. It's not a roll of the dice when they squeeze. Point in case, this instance.

I think the cop acted in a manner to stop the threat, no matter what the consequences.

Bet if girl got her head blown off with the perp, we wouldn't be talking here.

All I need to know is that you wouldn't let a cop randomly shoot 1 ft outside of your head. Pattern or not.

It was only a two foot shot. I admit, it's not a shot I would feel comfortable taking. From my point of view the police officer acted exactly as he was trained to do.

I would much rather a cop take that shot instead of hide behind a tree like Scott Peterson.

No, I'm not.

Cops shoots and misses...he's in a deep world of hurt..but its OK'D because he was doing his job.

Cops hits it...he's a hero.

Regardless of the outcome, he took the shot.

what is the purpose of loading a slug first and then buckshot?

1. Because a slug is a bad motherfricker. It is a show stopper.

2. It gives you a round that isn't spreading in case you need to make a tight shot.

so if you were in the same situation, would you rather get shot point blank by ex your husband or roll the dice and hope a trained police officer can pull off a shot from 24 inches away?

He was pretty close. Not much spread at that distance, so lots of killing power.

Perp lost the back of his skull, that's for sure.
