What is there to talk about? How much they hate Jesus, or how they have got it all figured out? Nah, I'll save my time for someone who isn't hitting down the accelerator on the hybrid car to hell. Most people are smart, it's easy to avoid the dumb ones. And if you find out someone isn't Christian, then just stop associating with them.

These statements right here show that you have zero understanding of Christianity. They also show that your ignorance is not limited to the few subjects you usually post about.

Stick to the aggrandizing remarks about your son, the next Pele/Morten Anderson/Tom Brady... Or whatever dream of yours he is currently fulfilling.

Talk about arrogant... Lol

One thing I’ve noticed over the years, is that Christians are very wary of being labelled dogmatic or arrogant. Our culture bristles at any claims of certain knowledge, insisting that such claims constitute intellectual hubris. As a result, Christians often shy away from claiming they know anything for sure.

this is bs

As a Christian, I don't really give a shite whether you believe or not.

Isn't part of being a Christian trying to lead others to Christianity though?

Had a neighborhood visit by a local church over the weekend, so this is fresh on my mind. Aside from the fact that she looked like an inbred version of Rocky from Mask, she really just wanted to argue about how her church was more pure.

People are stubborn and like to believe they are open minded on matters such as faith and politics, which are most times an illusion they themselves grow to believing they represent.

IMHO, open mindedness conduces change not resist it. If you are able to here someone’s views and beliefs and can take something away from their point of view and implement it into your own views and beliefs constructively, wisdoms will be attained.

If you believe your views are concrete and are only willing to debate your views and beliefs, growth is limited due to gaining knowledge instead of wisdom.

It's just about impossible to have a rational discussion about religion with a religious person. When "faith" isn't recognized as a reasonable argument, you've hit a wall the religious can't pass.

To those who think that being dogmatic is a good thing:

Think about the billions of people who have ever lived. Based on limited knowledge and lack of insight, which are part and parcel with human existence, almost all of these people died being SURE of things that were/are innacurate.

Existence has been around a long time.
Think of the church and religion as recent as 400 years ago. Spanish Inquisition, witch trials, etc.

I just have a hard time thinking that we (define we however u want) have all of a sudden figured it out.

I just try and live my life in a way makes a positive impact. That is at the very least, a good start IMO.

I would add the Crusades. You guys remember..."Militants" sent convert all non-believers by violence/force to THEIR religion. Sounds eerily familiar. Maybe all religions aren't as different as we think or were taught to believe.

I agree. Faith isn't necessarily a reasonable argument. We are saved by grace through faith. But, simply the fact that we have faith does not make the accounts of the Bible true. Plenty of people throughout history have had faith in something that was in fact false. I believe the Bible to be true because I see evidence of it being true. I believe it is a reliable collection of historical documents. Also, as mentioned previously, Paul writes that we should be ready to give a defense of our faith.
