I worked one of the intersections that did not allow traffic to turn from Highland. The theme for the night was deffinitely "but, but, I live right there! How do I get home?"

Most of the people that spoke to us in traffic seemed to support the new system. 5-6 assholes tried to tell us their opinions as if we had the ability to magically change everything for their individual routes.

Depends on the flow of traffic, not a clock. Some games require more time than others.

We started blocking it all off midway through the 3rd quarter and held it until around 11:00pm.

No way. There wasn't a cop to be found at 10:20 at Highland/Dalrymple and we were having to wait for the light to cycle in non-contraflow.

I flipped off 7 cops and hopped 83 barricades and got home in -7 minutes

The system isn't very favorable to people who live in the area.

You did notice that I specifically left out which specific intersection I was at, right?

I can't think of a reason why I would be less than honest about what time we cleared.

I told 12 dumb arse college kids that I did not give a frick where they lived and to keep traveling south on Highland. Am I cool now too?

The system isn't favorable to anyone who drives a vehicle.

I know people that live in Lafayette that park in Lot 401/401 and now with the pedestrian no drive zone, cannot head north on Nicholson to get on the bridge.

I assumed the "we" was the collective group of police working the entire contraflow operation.

Who tells y'all when to close up shop?

A cop working at a college football game can't refer to students as dumb asses.

I hope I don't have to explain why.

It does seem some times that the cops instructions are different from intersection to intersection.

As usual both lanes of Highland were leaving campus but the cop at LSU avenue was forcing everyone into one lane. Then you get to lee and they are pushing you into two lanes.

They never know how to direct traffic after the games. Would also help if Nicholson had more than 1 lane in each direction as well.

We work together, but if traffic clears in one direction there isn't a need to keep the contraflow just because another area is still heavy.

It's basically up to the supervisor at the intersection/command center. Either one can make the call to open it all back up.

So y'all aren't really working together on this. And that explains why I went from one lane with a light to two lanes contraflow then back to one lane.
