Contractor for remodel job in Baton Rouge?

I’m looking at a couple of older homes in the South Downs area of Baton Rouge and both of them would need some significant work done. I could go to something like Angie’s List to get recommendations, but why do that when I have the OT experts right here? So, does anyone have experience with a reliable contractor in Baton Rouge who can do some extensive renovations to older homes in the South Downs area?

Whatever you do make sure to go with someone who does custom home remodeling and not a guy who does strictly new construction. We are remodeling a house uptown NOLA and went with a guy who builds new houses mainly in lakeview. I like the guy, but seems like he does not know what he is doing with this remodel.

Ha, not releasing his name on here, friend of the girlfriends and overall nice guy. He took on our project with minimum experience in remodeling old houses uptown, duplex converted to single, we have been running across a lot of problems.

Stephen Thompson...but use your own plumber. His guy came by and reeked of alcohol(2pm on a Wednesday) and I told him to get out.
