Over 30K for a mid size, that is just retarded... Again I don't get why they are so expensive.
Supply vs demand, people that buy them new tend to keep them for a long time. I bought a used Tacoma, drove it for several years, and sold it back to the original owner who still has it.

Those are some butt ugly trucks and the wheels are hideous. I don’t care how reliable those little wanna be trucks are, give me an F150 any day.

The Tacoma formula is tried and true. I'd pick the Taco v6 over the turbo 4 in the Ranger--but the stats don't lie--the turbo engine has more power/torque. The colorado/ranger will have bigger more comfortable cabs and seating positions. The Taco still has the legs way out in front, seat close to the floor position it's always had
10-15 years from now Tacomas with 250K miles on them will be nothing unusual, and still selling for good money, a Ranger or Colorando will be rare as unicorns regardless of mileage, and the ones that do survive will be selling for scrap metal prices. Assuming of course it will still be legal to own a internal combustion engine.

The new Tacos kinda resemble the early 2000s Dodge Dakotas

Cement was the right pick

My last 2 pickups have been F150s.
Fine trucks, but too expensive new, don’t hold resale value great, and required more maintenance than a Tacoma.
This Tacoma will be worth $28k with 45K miles on it in 2022. That’s a depreciation of $6K...18%
A comparably equipped 4x4 F150 XLT FX4 would cost $48k new and be worth about $27k with 45K miles in 2022. That’s a depreciation of $21K...44%.
Enjoy your F150

What was MSRP vs what you paid?
Posted on 3/4/19 at 7:01 pm to Eli Goldfinger
I see someone downvoted because they didn’t like the numbers.

Good looking truck Eli. You certainly won’t be disappointed in your purchase

I got it for $34 and some change.
MSRP is almost $38k, but they have a $1k rebate and some dealer incentives through the end of March.
Plus they gave me $3,500 for a Subaru Outback with a bliwn transmission that I am relieved is out of my life.

Nobody's paying 48K MSRP for F150 XLT 4x4. Out the door is around 35K.

why are Tacomas popular
I'm on my 3rd Tacoma. For me, it's a solid
4x4 dual cab truck. Not too big and not too small.
Solid, powerful motor and all 3 trucks that I've owned were 100% trouble free. While I dont pussy-foot around with them, I do keep my vehicles well maintained. If you're looking for a bunch of bells and whistles, then a Tacoma not for you.

Maybe for a base model, but not with the upgraded FX4 package.

That color would look good with black nerf bars too.
