So I stand by my statement.

and i stand by mine...

it's all good, we don't agree... but inflation has been a problem for a while now, and thinking one person is gonna come in and just big dick it, well, that's just stupid and anyone who thought or believed that is, well...

$13 for a dozen brown eggs yesterday. No they weren't pasteurized or free range.

i’ll give you an easy out.

we can agree on: the vast majority of the national media reporting on inflation between 2020-2024 were being “intellectually dishonest”

Instead of acting like an internet tough guy, how about discussing what's the plan to help with inflation?

How can the Fed or anyone control egg prices due to bird flu, motor vechile insurance and used car prices?

Not to mention lodging away from home plus lower the shelter # from a year ago and they are still not using the correct shelter number. If correct this inflation report dropped

So what do you propose be done to correct that

Not really.

From January 2021 to January 2025 inflation averaged about 5% per year. That's 4 years at 20% cumulative.

From January 1969 to January 1977, inflation averaged about 8% per year. That's 8 years at 64% cumulative.

From January 1977 to January 1981, inflation averaged over 12% per year.
4 years at 49% cumulative.

From January 2017 to January 2021, inflation averaged 2% per year.
4 years at 8% cumulative.

As far as inflationary periods go, 2021-2025 wasn't nearly as bad as other periods- yet people were (are) freaking the frick out.

guess so. it was all my imagination that media seemed to use every opportunity to downplay inflation.

COVID was fairly and honestly reported on as well.

Neither the Biden or Trump administrations can do much about some of these issues. They're both FOS

Some headlines from last year…

Those articles prove my point. I just don’t think many of you understand economics. Inflation had been under control for a while and has only started to become a problem again since around January 20th. There was also job growth. Democrats oversold it by claiming the economy was booming because they are lying liars, but things were starting to improve before the change in power.

It's the third millennium, why are you still getting your news from twentieth century media? You obviously have the internet, why not use it to gain access to multiple news sources?

But yeah, I actually lived through the inflation of the 70s and 80s. This is nothing comparatively speaking.

But if you want the media to report on the Federal Reserve Chairman panicking over inflation, you've got a long wait ahead of you.

Blaming the "media" these days is just lazy.
