Ole boy rode the lightning a bunch that night. Y'all are some country sounding folk too. Not that there's anything wrong with that

I have an embarrassingly country accent

Did you think they could’ve gotten the cuffs on him sooner?

My wife is from central Alabama. Hers is probably worse. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Country sounding as opposed to that half-yat BR accent?

BR people don't really have an accent at all. I grew up in Central though and we tend to skew a little bit redneck there.

It’s pretty strange how (white) BR locals have an almost newscaster lack of an accent

God no. That woman was a fricking idiot. Call 911 (on the cops)

I still haven’t seen what he got arrested for. Someone said he was wanted in Texas

It's weird. I traveled the country for a decade for work and people told me that we definitely use Southern phrases like "fixing to" and "ain't" but we don't really have a distinct accent.

I probably have a slightly more redneck accent than someone that grew up in Bocage but not a lot I guess.

It's definitely noticeable to me, although not as thick as others.

I think people from other areas of the country notice it some but BR is fairly neutral. My wife's redneck cousin was disappointed that I didn't talk like Justin Wilson the first time I met him. You probably don't know who that is but Google his name + Louisiana if you are interested.

Yeah that's him. I figured he was more of a local/regional celebrity

Probably but he did a few national ad campaigns. Can't remember who for.
