Tell her that she can absolutely go out there, but to just give you a head's up on if and when she will be going. Probably talk to her a little bit, ask how everything had been going, and basically get closer to her so she will feel comfortable talking to you. More trust will be built that way, and it'll benefit both of yall. It probably won't work, but try and steer her in a better direction. Get her a new job, help her find a place to stay, get new phone #, etc

Doesn't sound like you mind her being there so much, but it does sound like you're worried what will happen to your stuff when her BF gets out of jail.

I'm not worried about her b/f. I'm worried about liability. She's very comfortable talking to me - always has been - i just get the vibe that she views me as some kind of father figure

There is a barrage of trouble around the bend. I'd do whatever it took to get away from this. It's a mess. Help her out but I'd be slowly moving away from this impending trainwreck.

Seriously, though. These kinds of damaged little tricks set up licks all the time. Make sure you're not being too naive about the intentions of a pretty little damaged female showing you some attention.

The fact that you considered that isn't a great sign.

man, that's exactly what I've been thinking. she's tried to see how much she could manipulate me early on and I told her to knock it off - wasn't playing that game with her

I've been in jail a few times, and I can tell you that you should not trust anyone who has been in jail for longer than a couple of months. No matter how cool you think he thinks you are.....he'll steal your shite

she's been coming out to the farm with her kids - maybe twice in last 3 years. She used to go out there as a kid and hang out with my female cousin - when she found out my place was out there she was just amazed about the coincidence.

Maybe she views that area as some type of oasis to get away from everything - I don't know - a peaceful place to go while her life is falling apart around her.

I'm just trying to be delicate here - don't want to kick someone who's down.

I understand that it's your property and there is a liability factor involved in just letting her wonder around, but be gentle. She sounds as though she doesn't have much left in life and probably is very confused and lonely. You may be able to help her turn her life around?

It's only June. Depending on the size of your land it could be hard to spot. I don't really think that, but who knows.

Yep, I would hate to crush someone who's life is literally going to shyt and views you as some fragment of stability.

I doubt I can help her turn her life around though. I give her best advice I know how to give.

Tough situation. I feel for you.

Is there a female friend that you can get to try and talk to her and offer her some friendship? I can't imagine losing a young daughter like she said she did.

So she had permission to go with her kids but doesn't have an open invite?

To be honest with you I can relate. I played golf with someone I never met who told me about him fishing at our family farm because he was friends with our neighbor. People take liberty with unoccupied residences. I would secure my property better. I would get a local to look after your place for a fee. I would tell her that unfortunately your going to have ask her to not come on your property anymore. Tell the sheriff about this situation so you will be prepared to act.
