Most military Vets never use discounts myself included. I just feel awkward asking for discounts.

I think businesses ought to be free, generally, to encourage the patronage of or reward public service in any way that makes sense to the owners of that business.

Why don't you believe Teachers or Nurses should be included?
I just feel that the others listed are underappreciated by society and underpaid for the most part. I get that there is an argument that teachers are underpaid too, but I can't lump them together with the others listed

I am a teacher and have never seen this Teacher discount. Please tell me where I can find it.

Where are nurses getting discounts at????
Take out the "sentiment" behind the discounts for military, if a business offered you a X % discount that was built-in because you are a nurse, would you choose this business over a competitor of theirs (assuming you have a need)?

Understood, however if you are asked by owner | sales person, would you volunteer that information?

J.crew and Ann Taylor offer 20% off for teachers.

This is just a hypothetical. Only brought it up after reading an article. I'm not aware of any discounts for teachers as I am not a teacher.

Only place I get a nurse discount at is the place I buy my scrubs from(10% discount if you show your work ID badge).
And scrubs are outrageously priced to begin with.

Why are any allowed discount?
Posted on 4/14/16 at 10:38 am to Jizzy08
Just take them from hospital.

It's up to the individual business and/or corporation to decide what they want to do.
I was just curious as to which group(s) should be included and/or excluded.

With the amount of money I spend at Lowe's I'm sure as hell not too proud to take the 10% discount. I look at it as taking away the taxes... and I only do it over a certain amount usually >$100.

If asked then yes, but I wouldn't go out of my way to volunteer it on my own.

Whichever groups that company decides IMO. I won't get butthurt if a company offers discounts to one group and not veterans. If the discount is there then by all means use it.
